City Lights Books 10.9.22

The first day of the Comrade Sisters Women of the Black Panther Party book tour included a second stop across the Bay in San Francisco at City Lights Bookstore.

Oakland Museum of California 10.21.22

At the Oakland Museum of California, the October 21st Comrade Sisters Women of the Black Panther Party event was held outdoors as part of the weekly Friday Nights at OMCA with Off the Grid series featuring music and food trucks.

New York University's The Center for Black Visual Culture / The Greene Space 10.24.22

New York was home for a week from October 24th-30th during which time we had 8 events in 6 days.

Schomburg Center for Research on Black Culture 10.25.22

Everywhere we went Panther Party members were asked to stand and be honored.

Greenlight Books 10.26.22

Denise Oliver-Velez, who was both a New York Chapter Black Panther member and a Young Lords member, joined the conversation at Greenlight Books on Flatbush in Brooklyn.

Columbia University 10.28.22

On Friday October 28th Columbia University hosted co-authors Stephen Shames and ericka huggins and a women of the bpp panel featuring huggins, New York Panther Claudia Chesson-Williams, and Chicago Panther Lynn French.

McNally Jackson - Seaport 10.28.22

The second event on October 28th was held at the McNally-Jackson Bookstore in the Seaport location in New York. We all gathered in a quaint and quiet space in the Biography section of the bookstore to listen to ericka huggins and Philadelphia (PA) and New Haven (CT) Panther Rosemari Mealy reflect on their time in the Party.

The Free Black Woman’s Library hosted the Comrade Sisters coauthors Stephen Shames and ericka huggins, and featured Oakland and New York BPP member Lauryn Williams Jackson on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

On October 30th, Unnameable Books hosted a Comrade Sisters event that featured New York BPP member Thelma Bunny Davis Legare.
